Puzzle platform falls into place
TIMES News Group readers can now test their wits against a suite of digital puzzles that are now available on the publication’s website.
Times News Group has partnered with media business Pagemasters to launch the initiative, which includes a library of online brainteasers that users can access for a small fee through the Spotpass platform.
Puzzle types on offer include crosswords, sudokus and wordfinds for beginners up to expert levels.
Readers can access the puzzles for as little as 25 cents through micro-payment system Spotpass, which is the same platform Times News Group uses for voluntary donations across its websites to support its news services.
Like the news revenue, puzzle contributions are flexible and pain-free, meaning users determine how much they pay each week and are free from contracts.
Puzzle revenue supports Times News Group without the need for costly subscription fees and ensuring its editorial content remains free across its seven Times mastheads; Surf Coast, Bellarine, Armstrong Creek, Geelong, Ballarat, Bendigo and Golden Plains.
Times News Group managing director Warick Brown said the new site was almost a year in the making, and planned to provide new ways for readers to stay engaged with their local news outlet.
“Launching our new puzzles megasite with Pagemasters and Spotpass makes the entire process of playing premium puzzles fast, affordable and most of all fun for everyone,” he said.
