THE Queenscliff Music Festival (QMF) has revealed the last group of artists that will perform at its 2023 edition.

Announced last week, the final lineup comprises Assynt, Daisy Kilbourne, Daniel Aaron, Cookie Robinson, Jackie Marshall, Jimmy O’Hare, Operation Karma, Tides of Welcome and Tin Stars.

Award-winning instrumental folk trio Assynt are former BBC Radio Scotland Young Musician of the Year finalists, and are inspired by the great piping, fiddle and Gaelic traditions of the Highlands of Scotland.

A wannabe ’70s child who believes she was born in the wrong era, Daisy Kilbourne is an acoustic folk singer-songwriter raised in the small town of Daylesford.

Daniel Aaron is an indie-roots outfit of one, with rhythm raucous enough for the toilet paper aisle mid-lockdown and a style harder to pin than a chip packet in the wind.

Ocean Grove singer-songwriter Cookie Robinson released her second single “Out of Time” in 2022.

As a teenager in the ’90s, Jackie Marshall was heavily influenced by the Western folk and country music of the ’60s and ’70s, and later developed her own style, as featured on Australian Music Prize-shortlisted debut album “Fight n’Flight” in 2006.

Jimmy O’Hare is an award-winning fingerstyle guitarist based on the Surf Coast. One of Australia’s premier solo acoustic guitar players, O’Hare released debut album “An Open Sky” in January 2023 with a tour across Victoria.

Formed by a bold group of creatives from Djilang, Operation Karma delves into the experimental world of progressive punk, goth and hardcore rock.

Based in Queenscliff, Tides of Welcome formed in 2003 and has had five choir directors since then (from founder Sarah Carroll to incumbent Wayne Jury), and their 20th anniversary show at QMF will will feature songs from throughout its history.

Tin Stars is an Australian alt-country quartet (ex-GIT, Sweet Delores, and Hazchem) based on the Bellarine, with musical stylings range from slow-burn twang to cowpunk-tinged barroom swagger.

There will also be yoga paired with music, with yoga fans of all levels invited to join a session featuring a hybrid of gentle yoga and live music.

QMF organisers revealed a stacked lineup of children’s entertainment, including The Connected Circus, Bebop Circus, Dr. Hubbles Bubbles, Improv Puppet Theatre, Junior Burger, Nic Dacombs High Wire, MarimbaTaters, and kids; ukulele with the Ukulele Queen of the Bellarine.

Artist playing times are expected to be released “very soon”, organisers said.

Tickets for the 2023 QMF are already on sale, but will incease on November 1.

Attendees can also pre-purchase their bus tickets now, with services running to Point Lonsdale, Barwon Heads, Ocean Grove, Geelong, and the Big 4 Bellarine Holiday Park.

This year’s QMF will be held from November 23-26.
