QUEENSCLIFF Football Netball Club was full of celebrations at the weekend.

The Coutas celebrated all past and present netballers, coaches, partners, life members and committee members during their home games at Queenscliff Recreation Reserve against Anglesea on Saturday.

Organiser Sue Orvis said the day was “very successful”, with all members of the 1978 A gradegrand final team that defeated Leopold by four goals in attendance – two ladies even travelled from Queensland for the weekend.

The team members were: G.S. Coral Hammond, G.A. Leanne Neville, W.A. Robyn Hewitt, C. Bev Barrett, W.D. Sue Briggs, G.D. Gayle Main, G.K. Jenny Shapter, Em. Margie Sullivan. Barb Maloney, coach and Dulcie Bottriell. An A Grade umpire (now in her 90s) was also there.

The day began by watching Queenscliff A grade play Anglesea, afternoon tea at the clubrooms as guests of the president and drinks after the game.

The day also proved successful for the football, with Queenscliff earning its sixth consecutive win.
