THE 27th Queenscliff180 Family Swim team is calling for volunteers available to help during next year’s event.

Organiser Liam Petrie-Allbutt said they were looking for people to fill three kinds of roles in preparation and during the swim on January 20, 2019.

Liam said he needed registration staff who could help sign up swimemrs on the day and hand out timing tags and t-shirts, and finish line volunteers to help with various functions, such as handing out drinks, organising prizes, places, medals, and be a swim ambassador.

Also needed are logistical/operations volunteers to help with the loading and unloading of trailers, and the setting up of plastic trestles, chairs, marquees and the blow-up archway.

Proceeds from next year’s Q180 swim will go to beyond blue (37.5 per cent), the Queenscliff Coast Guard (37.5 per cent) and the Event Sustainability Fund (25 per cent).

The 26th Queenscliff 180 Family Swim, previously known as the Queenscliff Blue Water Challenge, held in January this year attracted around 430 participants across a variety of ages and experience levels.
