Raise any issue with councillors

November 19, 2021 BY

Bellarine Ward councillors Stephanie Asher, Trent Sullivan and Jim Mason will be visiting Leopold, St Leonards and Barwon Heads on Saturday to hear from the community about local issues.

BARWON Heads, St Leonards and Leopold residents will have a chance to raise issues with their local councillors on Saturday as the second round of councillor ‘Listening Post’ sessions rolls out across the Bellarine.

City of Greater Geelong’s Bellarine Ward councillors Jim Mason, Trent Sullivan and Stephanie Asher are looking forward to hearing from the community between 9am and 10.30am at the Hitchcock Avenue and Bridge Road corner, Barwon Heads; from 11am to 12noon outside St Leonards IGA, St Leonards; and between 12.30pm and 2pm at Leopold Gateway Plaza, inside near Coles, at Leopold.

Mayor Asher said she was looking forward to visiting Barwon Heads, St Leonards and Leopold, after previous listening post visits in Ocean Grove, Portarlington and Drysdale.

“Everyone is invited and encouraged to come along and speak with us about any council issue they want to raise,” Cr Asher said.

Cr Mason said it was important to gain an understanding of the distinct issues facing each town across the Bellarine for strategic planning and representing the needs of the community.

“It’s also an opportunity for the community to find out about council projects, decisions and activities,” he said.

Cr Sullivan said the sessions were a great chance for councillors to meet local residents and find out what’s happening in the community.

“Council wants to ensure we are providing the services and support the community needs.”

There is no requirement to pre-register for the public sessions on Saturday, November 20.
