SEAROAD Ferries has reopened its Queenscliff Ferry Terminal retail offering, partnering with a well-known brand to create a fresh experience for travellers.

The organisation has partnered with surf industry titan Rip Curl to blend the spirit of the coast with the practical needs of travellers, offering the latest in must-have apparel and forgotten travel essentials.

Searoad Ferries chief executive officer Matt McDonald said the partnership was a “natural step” that reflects a mutual love of the coast and the communities that call it home.

“Like us, they are part of the coastal fabric of this region.

“This revitalised store isn’t just about retail — it’s about celebrating our shared connection to water, tides and community.”

The surfwear brand, which was founded in Torquay, shares the same enthusiasm.

“The Rip Curl brand will resonate strongly with the travel and tourist demographic that travel the ‘sea road’,” Rip Curl general manager of wholesale Adam Sharp.

“It’s a great brand and product alignment, and we look forward to working with the Searoad Ferries team to bring the partnership to life.”

To extend the offering and keep travellers safe from the sun, Searoad Ferries has also partnered with sunscreen brand Sun Bum and CARVE Eyewear.

“According to statistics, two out of three Australians will be diagnosed with some form of skin cancer during their lifetime,” Mr McDonald said.

“That’s a staggering number and why we wanted to stock a quality brand like Sun Bum – offering sun protection products that are environmentally friendly, vegan and a brand that stands out in a crowded market.”

Searoad Ferries will host an official store re-opening this Sunday, September 21, with giveaways and children’s face painting on offer, while the Ferryman Bar will be open in the Terminal Forecourt.

A mechanical surfboard will also be open to the public, giving visitors the opportunity to try on a Rip Curl Pro surfer’s winning jersey and ride the mechanical waves.
