Rising stars of piano to shine on the Bellarine
THREE of the Bellarine’s brightest young pianists will bring the Barwon Heads Art Hub to life this weekend, performing in support of Queenscliff charity Cottage by the Sea.
Matthew Kweh, 17, Christopher Xie, 15, and William Zhang, 12, will take to the stage for a classic piano concert this Sunday, September 28.
The highly talented trio are students of internationally renowned pianist Dr Mark Kruger, who studied at both the Moscow Conservatory and the London Royal Academy of Music.

The concert will also feature the arts hub’s new community grand piano, purchased last year thanks to a spirited local fundraising effort.
For Matthew, the oldest of the trio, music is more than just notes on a page.
“I love the way music gives me a chance to release all the emotions and stress I feel in my daily life,” he said. “For me, music is a passion I love because of the way it brings people together, whether it be the audience or the performers.”

Christopher celebrated music’s ability to touch lives and build community.
“It’s been part of my life for so long and has brought along so many opportunities and memories that I wouldn’t have otherwise,” he said.

The concert will start at 2pm, with tickets $35 and selling quickly.
All proceeds will go towards Cottage by the Sea, helping provide inspiration, fun and opportunity for children in need on the Bellarine Peninsula.
