Newly Minty-ed councillor for Queenscliffe

December 5, 2019 BY

Robert Minty will replace Tony Francis on the Borough of Queenscliffe council.

ROBERT Minty has been declared as the new councillor for the Borough of Queenscliffe.

A countback by the Victorian Electoral Commission (VEC) confirmed Robert Minty as the new councillor for the borough, following the resignation of Cr Tony Francis.

Using results of the November 2016 election, the VEC declared Mr Minty the winner on a countback of eligible votes.

Cr Francis resigned after selling his Queenscliffe-based business, meaning he was no longer a business owner nor a ratepayer in the borough, which is a requirement to be a councillor.

Mr Minty is set to be invested as a councillor at a council meeting this week.
