THE QUEENSCLIFFE Literary Festival is turning ten and celebrating the huge milestone with a community launch of this year’s festival program.

The September 5 event will be held at Queenscliff Town Hall and be headlined by Australia’s most successful international crime writer Michael Robotham.

Mr Robotham has sold 8.5 million books worldwide and had his work translated into 25 different languages.

His latest novel ‘Storm Child’ debuted at number one across the country.

The award-winning author will discuss his fabled career with Miles Franklin Literary Award winner Sofie Laguna at the event.

Festival director Elizabeth McCarthy looked forward to welcoming Mr Robotham to the Borough.

“It’s quite a big deal the program launch, and we are so excited to have him coming along.

“To have someone of his calibre will be amazing.”

More than 30 activations are set to feature as part of the Queenscliffe Literary Festival from October 18 to 27, making it the biggest yet.

Ms McCarthy said the 10th anniversary promised to be a showstopper.

“The festival was founded on a deep passion for books, ideas and conversations, and today that passion burns brighter than ever.

“Our 10th birthday program is a rich feast that I hope will stimulate many ideas and conversations across our community, long after the festival winds down.

“I hope everyone in the Borough – and indeed, right across Geelong and the Bellarine – finds plenty in this program of events to enjoy, chew over, be challenged and inspired by.”

The launch event will run from 5-7pm.

The full 2024 Queenscliffe Literary Festival program will be released on the night.

Tickets can be purchased for the launch event via trybooking.
