FOUR separate awards will be on offer at this year’s Community Service Awards coordinated by the Rotary Club of Ocean Grove and the Business Association of Ocean Grove to recognise community members for their efforts.

The four awards on offer are the Apprentice/Trainee of the Year award, the Small Business Excellence award, Team Member of the Year award and Volunteer Organisation of the Year award, with all recipients based in Ocean Grove or Barwon Heads.

The Rotary Club of Ocean Grove has hosted Community Service Awards since 2014 and the club continues to take great pride in awarding recipients for their hard work.

President of the Rotary Club of Ocean Grove, Alan Keyse, said it was an absolute privilege to present the awards each year.

“We have a number of flagship projects each year that we do, one is our art show, the other is the markets, but this one rounds out the top three,” Mr Keyse said.

“It’s a very, very special night for us when we present the awards on Tuesday, May 17, in front of plenty of people and it is a fantastic opportunity for the Rotary Club to give back to and recognise some of the efforts made by individuals, businesses and volunteer organisations in our area.”

Each award is sponsored by a business based in the area, allowing for a sizeable monetary award in each of the four categories.
“We support the community, and the community supports us, it is as simple as that,” Mr Keyse said.

“Everything we do at the club has the community in mind, we love to do these projects and it’s terrific we have the generous sponsors that we do.”

The full list of sponsors can be found on the Rotary Club’s page.

Nominations can be made by an employer or someone who has employed the services of a local worker or organisation at any time before March 15 when nomination close.
