Rotary Ocean Grove toast successful year
ROTARY Club of Ocean Grove celebrated the successes of its 2023-24 season and inducted new board members at its Changeover Dinner last week.
More than 70 members packed into the Ocean Grove Bowling Club for the
celebratory event.
Outgoing president Lynne Carlson stated the club had injected more than $100,000 back into the local community.
This was achieved through its Ocean Grove Summer Markets, the much-loved annual Duck Race in Barwon Heads, the Art Show held in Point Lonsdale and many more initiatives.
Funds raised were directed towards primary and secondary school student scholarships, Rotary International projects and disaster relief and community organisations.
Lynne Carlson officially handed over the presidency baton to Meredith O’Neill for the 2024-25 Rotary year.
Ms O’Neill is a long-time club board member and said she looked forward to leading the club forward.
Joining her in leadership positions are Lynne Carlson (vice-president),Rod Bush (secretary), Lyndy Stagg (president elect) and John Paton (treasurer).
On the evening, club service awards were presented to David Larkin, Rodney Birrell, Rod Bush, Kath Venters, Peter Cowburn, John Karis Heather Willson, Lisa Hanley, Noel Emselle, Andrea Tierney, Meredith O’Neill and Lynne Carlson.
Martin Geerings earned Life Membership for his thirty years of service.
