Runners hit the sand for Sheepwash
HUNDREDS of competitors of all ages took part in the 39th annual Barwon Coast Sheepwash Classic at the weekend.
From serious competitors to fun runners, everyone came together to tackle the eight-kilometre or four-kilometre course on Easter Saturday, March 31.
Tom Vernon took out the male four-kilometre run with a time of 12 minutes and 58 seconds, followed by Sebastian Asher and Ben Jordan, while Erica Fountain won the female race with 14 minutes and 20 seconds, followed by Zoe Woods and Emilie Guy.
Toby O’Brien won the male eight-kilometre run with 27 minutes and 34 seconds, with Grant Simpson coming in second and Pat Matthews third, while Catherine Allison took out the female run with 32 minutes and 31 seconds, followed by Brittany Campbell and Heidi Demeo.
The Sheepwash Classic is Barwon Heads Primary School’s (BHPS) major fundraiser for the year and is run by a dedicated group of parent volunteers and staff.
