Santa to swap snow for sand on Bellarine
SANTA Claus will swap snow for sand this festive season when he heads for the beach on the Bellarine Peninsula.
Throughout November and December, Sandy Santa will provide locals with the opportunity to have memorable pictures taken with Santa in between the palm trees and surfboards on the beach in Ocean Grove.
Sandy Santa co-founder Darcee Braun said the concept of having sunshine-filled, coastal Christmas photos would no doubt appeal to many people in the community.
“As Aussies, we love the beach and there is something so special about being on the beach during the festive season.
“For many years, we have not had photos with Santa at Christmas time, a combination of battling with the crowds at the shopping centre, waiting in line and feeling that the classic Santa photos just didn’t capture the warm festive days we loved.
“This resulted in us deciding to invite Santa to swap his warm suit for some cooler attire and bring the magic of Christmas to the coast.
“We hope to capture lifelong memories in a meaningful way during this special time of year.”
Mrs Braun said since launching the online booking site earlier this month, bookings have been coming in “thick and fast.”
“Bookings have been going really fast, which is just terrific, but we still have some spots left!
“Sandy Santa loves pets too, so we encourage locals to bring them down to make their photos even more special.
“We just can’t wait to make all these beautiful coastal Santa moments come true.”
Photos will be taken near the first beach car park on the Ocean Grove side of the bridge.
Sandy Santa will be available most Friday and Saturday mornings right through until Christmas.
