Pete Swinton walks through a guard of honour with his sons Ted, 2, and Evan, 1, before his big game on Saturday.

A LOSS failed to dampen the spirits of Pete Swinton as he celebrated his 200th game for Barwon Heads at the weekend.

Swinton walked onto the ground through a guard of honour with his boys Ted and Evan on Saturday, and was then carried off afterwards in front of a big crowd who took to their feet to cheer him on.

“I loved walking out with my boys, it will be something I’ll remember forever,” Swinton said.

“It was good to have my whole family and friends there to support me.”

Swinton said the game proved too tough for his Seagulls, who went down to Modewarre, 10.12.72 to 8.10.58.

“We would have loved to win but the beer still tasted the same,” he said.

“They were always going to be hard to knock off, but hopefully we’ll get them next game.” Swinton said he celebrated with his club after the game, who presented him with a framed jumper, the game ball and a certificate recognising his 200-game achievement.
