BARWON Heads Football Netball Club enjoyed the weekend off the football field and netball court as well as on them following last weekend’s Captains Club Luncheon and Ladies Day events.

Seagulls president Russell Hyland said it was a joyous Saturday with club members taking advantage of the favourable weather and positive atmosphere.

“The Captains Club Luncheon was held at the Barwon Heads Hotel, who did a tremendous job catering as usual, and we were lucky enough to have Carlton president Luke Sayers attend the event too to update us with everything going on with the club,” Mr Hyland said.

“The annual Ladies Day was also a major success, selling around 160 tickets whole raising funds for ovarian cancer.

“There was live music, auction items, and it kicked on very late into the night. To top it all off we had a few wins in the footy and netball.”

About 160 tickets were sold to last weekend’s Barwon Heads FNC Ladies Day.

Corangamite federal member Libby Coker was also in attendance at the event.

All funds raised during the Ladies Day event went towards ovarian cancer.

The Captains Club will host another event later in the year with the guest speaker to be announced closer to the date.
