Seagulls launch 2019 season with family day

BARWON Heads Football and Netball Club hosted their Season Launch Family Day at the weekend. The Seagulls’ netballers took on Cobden Football Netball Club on Saturday, but the senior men’s side pulled out.

This meant that Barwon Heads’ seniors team and reserves team played an intra club match, where they were able to put some systems in place and get their bodies ready for round one, which is against reigning premiers Modewarre this Saturday.

The kids enjoyed face painting and balloon making while the parents could watch both the netballers and footballers get ready for the big season ahead.

The Seagulls’ first home game for the year is Saturday April 13. They will take on seaside rival Torquay in their inaugural “Battle Of The Breaks”, which also brings together Torquay and 13th Beach boardriders in the fight to claim the trophy surfboard thanks to Barwon Heads Pub and Torquay Pub.
