Searoad Ferries’ lottery returns
THE SEAROAD Ferries lottery is back for the winter season, providing the opportunity for lucky winners to experience the winter charm of Port Phillip Bay for a fraction of the price.
As a part of their winter ferry lottery giveaway, the organisation will be providing winners with a discounted $20 return vehicle ferry ticket (inclusive of driver and one extra passenger), usually
valued at $160.
Inspired by Melbourne’s popular theatre lottery, the opportunity will give couples, families and friends the chance to visit world class wineries, historic townships and beautiful coastline on either side of the Bay.
Searoad Ferries marketing manager Leanne Jones said the lottery has been well received during its first week online.
“The lottery launched 9am on Friday the 6th of June and we have been overwhelmed with the response so far,” she said.
“Within the first few days we received over 5,000 entrants and it continues to grow daily.”
Searoad Ferries chief executive officer Matt McDonald hoped that the campaign would continue to promote travel and tourism for both sides of Port Phillip Bay.
The winter campaign which will run for 10 weeks and provide the public with a chance to win hundreds of cheap ferry tickets, which will be picked at random each week.
Ticketholders will have the chance to enter which days they would be happy to travel and from, with the lucky winners securing the discounted fare the following Thursday after entering.
“If you share your entry via Facebook, you will further increase your chances of winning,” Mr McDonald said.
Winners will be contacted via email and SMS and given three days to arrange the purchase of their $20 ticket.
