SIXTEEN local mums have been learning the basics of soccer through a supportive program run by FC Leopold, which has three sessions to go.

Senior Women’s team coach Cath Sattler is running soccer mum sessions at the Estuary Reserve, where women can have fun, meet new people and learn basic football skills.

Mum of four Cathie Miller said she was enjoying the social and fitness aspects of the program.

“I’m enjoying learning how to play soccer a bit more because my son plays and now I have a bit more of a chance in the backyard,” she said.

“He says I’ve improved so that’s good, but it’s just a lot of fun and there is no judgement because we are all new to the sport.”

Ms Sattler said she was hoping to also run programs in Drysdale in partnership with Drysdale Soccer Club, and in St Leonards.
