Sofie to share her skills at art show
SOFIE Dabrowski has fulfilled her lifelong dream of learning how to paint and will next month share her skills in public for the first time.
Sofie, who came from Poland with her husband and two children 46 years ago, treated herself to art lessons in Geelong for her 70th birthday and has now joined the Barwon Heads Art Group.
She is very excited about the group’s coming four-day art show over the Melbourne Cup weekend, which will have more than100 paintings on show.
Sofie’s passion is still life as she feels it has a bigger challenge and acrylic paint is her chosen medium.
On show will also be abstract, flowers, seascape, landscape and many others plus hand painted cards.
The art show is at the Senior Citizens Centre in Clifford Parade on November 3, November 4, November 5 and November 6, from 10am to 4pm each day.
On the Saturday and Sunday between 10am and 2pm, one of the group’s artists, John Moore, will demonstrate his skills and use acrylic paint as his medium.
The show is also linked with the Bellarine Arts Trail.
Entry is free.
