Sold-out New Year’s Eve event goes off
QUEENSCLIFF’S first fireworks display in what is believed to be about 30 years has proved to be a cracking event.
The fireworks were part of the Queenscliff Harbour’s New Year’s celebration on December 31.
Events co-ordinator Helene Cameron said the night was a wonderful “sell-out event”, which included two amazing fireworks displays, one at 9.30pm for families and one at midnight.
“It was a fabulous family event that included a jumping castle, inflatable twister, Jenga tower and a Connect Four game for the children,” Ms Cameron said.
“There was also a balloon lady who entertained for hours and Dazzling Dan the Magic Man, who was amazing,” Ms Cameron said.
“Jordie Lane and The Sleepers were incredible and supported by the amazing Holly Joyce and Baby Blue.
“The crowd was good-humoured and danced and sang the night away.”
Ms Cameron said she wanted to thank the harbour restaurants, the Queenscliff Bowling Club, the Queenscliff Point Lonsdale Community Enterprise and the Queenscliff Coast Guard for their sponsorship and support that made the event possible.
