LOCALS will get their first look at the designs for the St Leonards Pier rebuild when they are unveiled to the public next month.
Bellarine MP Alison Marchant and Parks Victoria will hold a community information session on October 17 at the St Leonards Memorial Hall, in Murradoc Road, between 10am and 12noon to share the designs.
For those unable to attend, a follow up information session will be held on October 18 between 3pm and 4pm, also at the St Leonards Memorial Hall.
Ms Marchant thanked everyone for their ongoing engagement in the project.
More than 1,500 submissions were received during community consultation — held last year between March and April — on the proposed design, with the feedback showing strong support for the pier’s current length to be either maintained or extended.

“I understand how important this project is to the community,” Ms Marchant said.
“I have worked closely with Parks Victoria to ensure the project reflects the needs and expectations of the community and is delivered to a high standard that will serve the area for years to come.”
She said the community information sessions would give the public the opportunity to hear directly from Parks Victoria and marine engineers, ask questions and learn more about the redevelopment planned for the area.
In the coming weeks, geotechnical contractors will be on-site carrying our surveying and service investigations, as preparations for the highly anticipated redevelopment of the pier continues.
