January 12, 2018 BY

CLIFTON Springs Golf Club will host Maddie’s Day On The Purple Pro-Am this weekend.

The event, to be held on Sunday, January 14, will support Maddie Riewoldt’s Vision to find a cure for bone marrow failure.

Sport stars will tee off from the purple turf, including Essendon footballer Brendon Goddard, pro golfer and Olympic record holder Marcus Fraser, Cats veteran Harry Taylor and ex-footballers Corey McKernan and Sam Newman.

This year’s field will also include 2015 VicOpen winners and European members Richard Green and his wife Marianne Skarpnord.

Every summer, Clifton Springs Golf Club hosts a celebrity pro-am that sees amateur golfers and sporting stars alike converge on the stunning seaside golf course overlooking the Bellarine, in the hope of taking home the $11,000 cash prize.

Maddie’s Day On The Purple welcomes families and visitors alike to share in the spectacle, with a free family day held on the edge of the rolling greens, with a pop-up bar and food stand serving Middle Eastern street food, mini golf for the kids, a golf clinic run by the PGA and a longest drive hitting competition.

Maddie’s Day On The Purple Pro-Am starts at noon.
