Stockland launches second Halcyon community in Geelong region as demand grows
Halcyon Greenhaven is located in Armstrong Creek, offering easy access to Geelong, the Bellarine Peninsula, the Surf Coast and key local amenities.
STOCKLAND has launched Halcyon Greenhaven, its second over-55s community, in Armstrong Creek, as more Australians over the age of 55 relocate to Geelong in search of lifestyle, connection and low-maintenance living.
Now selling, Halcyon Greenhaven will deliver 345 homes across a 17.2ha community, just 10km from Geelong CBD and close to the Bellarine Peninsula and Surf Coast.
Located off Barwon Heads Road, the community has been designed to combine liveability, connectivity and accessibility, with generous open space and easy access to Warralily Shopping Centre, Sparrovale Wetlands and the wider Geelong region.
The launch of Halcyon Greenhaven comes as Greater Geelong experiences rapid growth, with 31.5 per cent of residents aged 55 and over in 2021, a figure expected to rise 68 per cent by 2041.
Stockland has earmarked three Halcyon communities across Greater Geelong and committed $741 million to the region, underscoring its confidence in Geelong as a destination for over-55s living.
Stockland Halcyon Communities general manager James Westh said Greater Geelong had become a priority market due to its strong growth and appeal to downsizers.

“As Australia’s fastest-growing regional city, Geelong offers a unique combination of lifestyle and infrastructure that is increasingly resonating with over-55s buyers looking to downsize without compromise,” Westh said.
“Unlike many outer metropolitan growth corridors, Geelong operates as a self-contained regional city with its own CBD, hospital network, university sector, port and established employment base, creating stronger long-term housing demand and liveability outcomes.
“The combination of coastal lifestyle, affordability and established infrastructure is increasingly attracting buyers from regional Victoria, metropolitan Melbourne and interstate, reinforcing Geelong’s position as a key growth market for our Halcyon communities.”
Future plans for Halcyon Greenhaven include a welcome centre, display village and centrally located clubhouse.
The clubhouse will include a range of amenities and facilities aimed at supporting an active lifestyle, including indoor and outdoor pools, pickleball courts, bowling green, gold-class cinema and wellness facilities, including a spa and sauna, gym and indoor yoga studio.
The community will also introduce eight new home designs shaped by homeowner feedback, with a mix of two and three-bedroom layouts, optional studies, single or double garages and a choice of facades and interior palettes.
Juliane and her husband Garry are among the first buyers, preparing to relocate from Queensland after being drawn to Geelong’s milder climate and relaxed lifestyle.
Currently living at Halcyon Greens in Queensland, the couple said Geelong offers the perfect balance of lifestyle, connectivity and community.

“Moving from Queensland to Victoria is a big change, especially with our children and grandchildren still living on the Gold Coast, but Geelong kept drawing us back every time we visited,” Juliane said.
“What really appealed to us about Halcyon Greenhaven was the strong sense of community and amenity, from the pools and wellness facilities to the social spaces, security and relaxed lifestyle, while still being close to Avalon Airport so we can easily stay connected with family in Queensland.
“We’re looking forward to escaping the Queensland heat and spending more time outdoors again, walking along the beach in the fresh air, being close to world-class golf courses and having Geelong’s shopping, dining and healthcare all within easy reach.”
Stockland Greenhaven is located at 71 Harkness Boulevard, Armstrong Creek.
