Supporters turn out at semis

Footy fever was alive and well in Portarlington at the weekend for the semi-finals of the Bellarine Football League. Barwon Heads beat Modewarre by 63 points (112 to 49) at Portarlington Recreation Reserve on Saturday, sending them on a direct route to their first grand final in 25 years.

Co-coach Mitch Herbison starred with six goals, while Damien Horbury continued an impressive first season at the club with three goals. Kyle Polley and Sam Evans also impressed for the Seagulls, who are without a premiership since 1993.

Anglesea also won, beating Geelong Amateur by 17 points (87 to 70). Barwon Heads now awaits the result of the preliminary final between Anglesea and Modewarre at Mortimer Oval in Drysdale this Saturday to see who it will meet in the Grand Final.
