Surfing volunteers sought
The Disabled Surfing Association Ocean Grove branch is calling on volunteers to come and help put smiles on dials this summer.
The group are hosting two free surf sessions for people with disability on February 2 and March 2 at Ocean Grove Main Beach.
Volunteers are being sought to assist participants in the water by pushing them into waves, riding waves and general water safety.
Those not interested in getting in the ocean can assist with beach check in and event information.
Committee president Jeremy Swift said excitement was high heading into another big summer of fun.
“We had very successful events in 2024 and are looking to build on that.
“The days are super special to us all and such an amazing feeling
being able to help others enjoy the stoke of surfing and catch a few waves.
“Putting smiles on dials is what we are all about and we need as many people as possible to help make our events happen.”
The two meets will run from 8am to 12:30pm and volunteers can either stay for the whole event or do a short shift if needed.
