TARA’S DREAM OFFICIALLY OPENS

NINE local residents have received the keys to their new home – Tara’s Dream in Ocean Grove.

The community gathered on Friday to officially open the housing development, which will provide young adults with disabilities a safe and accessible place to live.

A partnership between genU and the Tara’s Dream Foundation raised $300,000 to build the housing.

The Tara’s Dream Foundation was inspired by the life of Tara McGowan, who was just 23 and in
her third year of studying to becoming a Special Needs Teacher when she tragically passed away from an asthma attack on May 1, 2015.

Tara was very passionate about working towards moving young people out of nursing homes and into residential facilities within the community.
