THEY say don’t just count your years, make your years count, which is exactly what local foodie destination The Bungalow Restaurant is doing.

Just having celebrated their second birthday on November 16, the Bungalow has cemented itself as a one of the Bellarine’s key food and wine destinations.

Nestled in the heart of the historic township of Drysdale, the Bungalow, a Geelong Business Excellence Award Finalist, has injected more than $42,000 into the local community and created employment for over 20 job seekers.

The Bungalow has served up over 62,898 coffees, 22,224 poached eggs, 104 sunset dinners, and a key feature in many foodie collaborations over the past year – a Cheese, Wine, and Dine evening with Scotchmans Hill and Drysdale Goats Cheese and a Spring Grazing event with BAIE Wines for the Geelong Cup.

Owner Kerry Bell said Drysdale was the place she aspired to start a business, raise a family, and help continue to build a strong and joyful community.

“Making a commitment to this place and taking responsibility for its wellbeing was the first step we took toward helping to build a sustainable local economy in my region,” Mrs Bell said.

“I’m always throwing ideas around on how we share this beautiful part of Victoria with everyone.”

The seven days of giveaways celebrating their second birthday have been running since Friday November 16, with prizes giveaways, and a lot of fun.

“This week we wanted to show the community how much we appreciate the support they have shown us since we opened,” she said.

“We want to continue to share our success by giving back through donations, sponsorship and gratuities.”
