The Lakes Coast is open for business

January 22, 2020 BY

EAST Gippsland has been affected by the recent devastating bushfires, but the region is now welcoming visitors to come and stay.

Towns such as Bairnsdale, Paynesville, Bruthen, Metung, Lakes Entrance, Orbost, Marlo and others in the surrounding Lakes Coast area are open for business as usual.

From the Westernport Bay island of Phillip Island through to the northern extents of New South Wales’ Sapphire Coast at Bermagui, the Lakes Coast region covers mountain country, coastal towns and the largest inland waterway in the country, the Gippsland Lakes.

Pristine beaches along its waterways can be enjoyed no matter the season, as can fishing, which is popular in the lakes, rivers and seas, from jetties, boats and deep sea destinations.

The Lakes Coast boasts numerous state and national parks, each unique and all with something to discover – walk, hike, paddle, cycle, swim, or simply sit, relax, and take in the natural serenity surrounding you.

Of course there are many other adventures to be had in the region – galleries, markets, gourmet foods, wines, museums, shops, cruises, and much, much more.

Head to lakescoast.com.au or phone 5150 2345 to be posted a copy of the guide.

You can also help those that have suffered loss in the East Gippsland firezone by making a donation to the East Gippsland Rotary Fire Aid fund. All money donated will go towards locals in the area.

Electronically transfer funds to Bendigo Bank BSB 633000 A/C 165 960 451 or the Rotary Club of Bairnsdale Projects A/C (reference FIREAID).
