A DEVELOPMENT in Point Lonsdale has been honoured at this year’s Urban Development Institute of Australia (UDIA) National Awards for Excellence.

Moremac Property Group won Residential Subdivision of the Year for The Point, which has a population of more than 1,500 and is in its final stages of development.

This year’s National Awards for Excellence showcased finalists from each state and territory across Australia who had proven their ability to innovate and deliver high quality developments in a rapidly changing marketplace.

The Residential Subdivision Award is a highly competitive category that recognises projects which have established relationships with nearby facilities to meet the needs of residents.

It marks the fourth recognition for The Point from the UDIA, following its wins in the Victoria category in 2025 and Environmental Excellence and Judges Award – Regional Victoria at the 2020 UDIA Awards for Excellence.

Moremac chief executive officer, Tom Trevaskis thanked the UDIA on behalf of the developer for their recognition of the outstanding residential project.

More than 1,500 people live in The Point development in Point Lonsdale.

“The Point has been a marquee project of Moremac’s and we thank the UDIA for their acknowledgement with this award,” he said.

“Where others might have seen obstacles to development, we saw a fantastic opportunity to build a community befitting the aspirational lifestyle the Bellarine Peninsula is known for, complete with a refined waterway system that complements the coastal charm of Point Lonsdale.

“A thorough congratulations to our team who have contributed to the development of The Point since we acquired the site in 2013.”

Trevaskis also acknowledged the contributions of development partners IDA, Winslow, UDL Group, SMEC, Tract, and Withers Environmental.

The awards capped the annual three-day UDIA National Congress, held in Brisbane earlier this month.

“All our finalists demonstrated the attributes of what is special about new development, and I am delighted to congratulate the UDIA National Awards for Excellence 2025 Winners in the 17 categories for their extraordinary efforts and exceptional achievements,” UDIA national president Col Dutton said.
