ABOUT 7,500 packed into Ocean Grove Park at the weekend for Ocean Grove’s 2019 Tranquility@ Twilight fair.

Innovative entertainment and an eclectic mix of stalls and food ensured the fair launched the Bellarine into the first weekend of the New Year with “fun and flair” on Saturday.

All proceeds from the event go to maintaining the park, and organisers said this year could have produced the highest takings ever.

“Overall the Tranquility@Twilight was an outstanding success,” organisers said.

“We had an array of different stalls that catered for everyone and the general consensus was that everyone had a great time.

“The bands were great, the crowd came in as hoped and big thanks to all of the organisers and volunteers who helped throughout the day, including setting up, everyone helping at the gates and the clean-up and packing up at the end of the night.

“We had volunteers working past midnight.” Volunteer Peter McGee said he was working on one of the entry gates late in the evening and said so many people said the fair was great value, a fun evening and “thank you so much”.

Other volunteers said there were lots of young kids dancing on stage with the bands who were encouraging it, and this year it was the most people they had seen watching in front of the stage.

Organisers also wanted to say a big thanks to the Ocean Grove Hotel and Oakdene wines.
