Tickets to toast on sale
TOAST to the Coast, a favourite weekend for wine lovers, is fast approaching with tickets to the annual event now on sale.
Celebrating the iconic Geelong wine region with an assortment of unique and exciting food, wine and entertainment experiences over November 3-4, patrons can enjoy very best of the Moorabool Valley,
Surf Coast and the Bellarine Peninsula. Wine Geelong president Scott Austin said revelers can taste their way across a diverse selection of award-winning wineries.
“Now in its 17th year, we’ve really focused on making this year’s Toast to the Coast a premium experience; we want to attract the serious winedrinkers but we’ve got something for everyone,” he said.
“Every year we’ve been fortunate with the weather and it’s such a good opportunity to bring together family and friends for the weekend. All of the wineries want to provide a great experience to really showcase all our region has to offer.”
This year, 22 wineries will participate (including several that will host guest wineries), among the list are six five-star wineries as rated by the Halliday Wine Companion 2019: Austins & Co, Clyde Park, Oakdene, Scotchman’s Hill, Spence Wines and Yes Said the Seal.
Over two days, the region’s cellar doors will deliver a varied program of wine, food and entertainment in addition to regular opening features.
There will be free sampling of regional wines, local caterers, food trucks and producers, vineyard restaurants and cafes offering special weekend menus, masterclasses, winery and vineyard tours.
Ticketholders are also privy to appreciation and wine education classes, new wine releases, rare backvintage tastings, luncheons, dinners and functions, gourmet food sales, live music and children’s activities.
Weekend passes include a take-home wine glass which acts a ticket for free wine-tasting at all host vineyards; cases of wine will be available for purchase over the weekend at all participating wineries, with special deals and free delivery a bonus at some venues.
