GEELONG Amateur have booked a berth in the BFL seniors grand final for the first time since 2017 after beating the reigning premiers Torquay in Saturday’s Semi-Final at Portarlington Recreation Reserve.

A six goal to one first quarter set up the win, with the Ammos never trailing in the 94-55 victory.

It was a joint effort by the Ammos, with 10 individual goal scorers. Charley Green led the way with three, while returning gun Blake Sutterby was named best on ground.

For the Tigers, Ben McNamara was named their best player, while Paddy Hughes kicked two goals.

Torquay now use their second chance in this weekend’s crunch Preliminary Final against Anglesea.

After an Elimination Final win over Drysdale, the Roos cruised to victory over Queenscliff in Sunday’s Semi-Final to give themselves a chance to avenge last year’s grand final loss to the Tigers.

A six-goal haul from Ayden Gras was the difference in the victory, which left the Coutas scratching their heads with a straight sets exit.

The Roos and the Tigers will now face off at Grinter Reserve with everything at stake.

Torquay prevailed by two goals in their Round 14 matchup and won convincingly when they played on Anzac Day in Round 4.

However, Anglesea seem to be priming themselves at the right time of the year, something the Tigers will be well aware of.
