Tim stars as a top five agent
TORQUAY real estate agent Tim Carson has been recognised among the top five residential agents in Victoria at the REA Excellence Awards (AREAs).
The McCartney Real Estate director came in at number four in the coveted annual awards which celebrate excellence throughout the property industry.
Sales agents in each state were judged on measurable factors such as the number of properties sold, value of properties sold and agent ratings and reviews.
Mr Carson said being among the 10 finalists in the Residential Agents Category was a huge honour and finishing in fourth place was completely unexpected.
“I was blown away and really surprised, to be honest,” he said.
“I would never have thought I was in the top 10 real estate agents in the region, let alone the state.
“It’s really a great honour out of the hundreds of agents throughout Victoria.”
Mr Carson said being a top 10 finalist was already a win and he was thrilled to take out fourth place.
“If I had finished in 10th spot, I would still have been absolutely rapt,” he said.
Mr Carson said the award was well-deserved recognition for everyone on the McCartney team.
“I think this award showcases why McCartney is doing so well and that is because of everyone on the team,” he said.
“We are a customer-focused agency, work as a team and we have a proven history of achieving great results.
“Although early 2020 was a little confronting, the real estate industry, especially in our part of the world, is quite resilient and has performed extremely well.”
Mr Carson also thanked his wife Jo, and his three daughters, for their ongoing support, as well as his personal assistant, Kim Harrison-Riley.
“Kim is an absolute superstar and should get as much recognition for this award as me,” he said.
When it comes to what he loves about his career, Mr Carson said it was dealing with great people and some of the best properties along the Surf Coast.
“What I really love about Torquay, Jan Juc, Bells and the Surf Coast generally is that everyone is friendly and everyone has moved down here for the right reasons,” he said.
“That is what really motivates me.”
The hardworking agent said it was an incredible time to be selling property on the coast with demand at an all-time high.
“I’ve been in real estate for a long time and I’ve never seen it like this and will never probably see it again,” Mr Carson said.
“It is an exceptional time to be a vendor … it is unbelievable what we are seeing at the moment and I don’t see it slowing down anytime soon.”
