Time to get into the swim
Living where we do we are lucky enough to be surrounded by magnificent beaches and places to enjoy the water.
While the water temperature may not be exactly tropical in our southern part of the world, that shouldn’t stop us from enjoying a wade into the salty waters no matter what season it is.
In fact, many people have discovered the benefits of cold water therapy during the pandemic – whether it’s standing in the sea, taking an early morning swim in the deep blue, or sitting in any icy cold bath.
Even if you prefer to take a dip in a heated pool, there is no denying the significant health benefits of being in the water and, in particular, the benefits of incorporating swimming into your health and wellbeing routine.
Swimming is a terrific way to keep fit, stay healthy and form friendships with like-minded people that can last a lifetime.
Best of all, it is a low-impact and relaxing activity that suits people of all ages.
According to the state government’s Better Health Channel, what makes swimming a great workout is that you need to move your whole body against the resistance of the water.

* Being a pleasant way to cool down on a hot day, and
