Tins to rattle for Good Friday Appeal fundraiser
THE Tin Shed in Barwon Heads is setting a $60,000 target for their Good Friday Appeal fundraising event which will celebrate its 10th anniversary tomorrow (Friday, April 7).
Event organisers said they are hopeful of attracting upwards of 300 people to the event and to eclipse the fundraising goal set in 2022 of $61,465.
The Tin Shed secretary Barry Williams said preparation work had gone well, with plenty of locals banding together to donate to the annual fundraiser.
“Everything is coming a long really well… the uptake on the raffle has been great and people have been buying raffle books and also selling them to friends,” Williams said.
“We’ve got about $45,000 of traditional raffle items so far and have another $14,000 or so in silent auctions. We’ve also had another generous benefactor donate $5,000.
“We’ve done lots of promotion of the event and hope it’ll be bigger and better than ever before – fingers crossed that the weather isn’t too inclement, either.”
Donated raffle prizes include an Andrew Gaze framed basketball jersey, a Makybe Diva framed picture, a suite of wine packages, nursery and homeware vouchers and much more.
Outside of the raffle, a range of activities will also be on the agenda to keep everyone entertained, including a wine pour, lucky dip tree, face painting and meals from a range of food trucks.
