Torquay College’s International Food Festival is coming

October 11, 2018 BY

THE annual Torquay College Festival is on again next weekend with a new theme this year: International Food.

For the first time in school fete history there will be a licensed area with a beer, wine and cider bar hosted by Corks Crew.

Families can expect all the usual fete treats such as a homemade bake sale, and kids activities including Hula hoo  workshops, MAD Games, the Lions Train and Bunnings activities.

All the entertainment will be provided by the school bands with kids aged between 8 and 12 performing everything from pop to rock.

This includes a couple of individual highlight performances.

Some of the international food vans on site include Sidewalk Cantina (Mexican), Torquay Thai, Taste of Tibet, Fresh Meal Fairy (Dutch), La Caleta (Spanish), Scandinavian Ice-cream Company, City to Surf Mobile Coffee and Gopi Chai to name a few.

The focus this year is on community, family and fun, and will be centralised on the school basketball courts and soccer pitches, with everything easily accessible.

The school is looking for anyone who wants to contribute to the bake sale and the school can accept donations on the morning of the fete.

Also, any businesses who would like to donate to the raffle would be most welcome. Phone Monika on 0415 768 880 to discuss.

The fete runs on Saturday October 20 from 10am- 3pm, with a gold coin donation on entry.
