TRAFFIC controllers will again don their hi-vis vests and take up their stop and go signs this summer to help improve travel times at Barwon Heads.

Traffic controllers will be at the pedestrian crossing on Bridge Road to help ease congestion in the main township and improve travel times for motorists travelling to and from Ocean Grove and the Bellarine Peninsula.

Safety measures will be put in place on peak days from 10am to 5pm from Saturday, December 16 until Sunday, January 28.

Bellarine MP Alison Marchant said it was important locals and tourists alike got to and from home safely this summer.

“We know how busy it can get over summer with thousands of visitors travelling to Barwon Heads and we’re taking action to improve travel times over the holiday period,” she said.

“Traffic controllers will once again be on hand to help keep traffic moving and provide safer crossing opportunities for pedestrians so visitors and locals can enjoy everything the Bellarine Peninsula has to offer.”
