Trail Running Series swings by Anglesea
VICTORIA’S Trail Running Series returns to the Surf Coast to Anglesea on July 9.
Event director Sam Maffett said the Anglesea Trail Running course is a fan-favourite of the Trail Running Series, which also stages events in Plenty Gorge and Silvan.
“We can’t wait to see runners on the coastal trails that we are lucky enough to call home,” Mr Maffett said.
“By providing a welcoming environment, food, coffee and family activities; and showcasing little-known trails, we’ve pulled together all the good bits that make trail running so good.”
Participants can choose from four course options this year.
Runners can take on the 29km course, the 16km course, the 7.5km course and the Friendly 4km race.
The Friendly-4km course is unique to the Anglesea run, aimed at friends, family, children, and the local community to experience the fun of trail running.
Local competitors are brimming with excitement for the Anglesea race.
11-year-old Torquay Jonathan Hudson has signed up for the Friendly 4km with his sister Emily and father Nathan.
“This is my third time at the Anglesea race, and it is my favourite run,” Jonathan said.
Entries are open online until race morning.
