The $8.03 million will build the college’s new VCE centre, which will include new seminar rooms, a student lounge and administration space. The funding follows $892,500 received in the 2019-20 state budget.
“Bellarine Secondary College is a great school and these modifications will ensure every student and teacher has better access to the school’s facilities,” Ms Neville said.
“I commend school principal Wayne Johannesen and his team, as well as past principal Alison Murphy for their hard work to continually improve and upgrade the school.
“We’re investing record funding in education so all people in Bellarine, regardless of their background or circumstances, get a world-class education.”
Newcomb Secondary College also received $5.4 milion to upgrade and modernise the school’s facilites.
“These upgraded facilities at Newcomb Secondary College will give students the modern learning environments they need to deliver the 21st-century education they deserve,” Ms Neville said.
“This investment will upgrade our schools, create thousands of jobs and help our economy recover from coronavirus.”
The Victorian Government program will fix old buildings, build additional classrooms and build ten new schools in a state-wide construction blitz, which the state government said would create thousands of jobs across Victoria and kickstart the state’s economy.
