Vehicular haven hosts thousands in Drysdale
DRYSDALE”S Mortimer Oval was a sight to behold for car enthusiasts over the weekend as more than 500 car and 100 motorcycle owners made the most of the good weather for the 11th Drysdale Autopro Classic Car & Bike Show.
Event organiser Michael Brislane said the vast crowd that attended on the day assisted in raising $10,000 for the Drysdale Cricket Club, with all proceeds going to the club’s 11 junior sides.
“There was a vast crowd of families, taking it all in, reliving some memories of past vehicles of all shapes and sizes.
“One of the many highlights of the Show was Paul Bezzina’s 1936 Cadillac. His vehicle is in original condition, ‘just a wash and polish, and off to the show’, Paul told us. One of only two in Australia.
“Also, Fred Murphy’s 1939 Roadster (black and red) was a major highlight too.
“Saturday night’s Stockdale & Leggo Cruisin’ the Bellarine Peninsula also saw a huge crowd, in an array of fine machines.”
The cruise began in Drysdale and circled the Bellarine’s coastline to St Leonards and back.
