Victorians find their happy place in short breaks

A new regional Victorian campaign encourages you to get out and about on short breaks to discover the world-class culinary experiences, innovative regional art and culture, and international renowned well-being destinations on offer.

A NEW regional Victoria campaign Your Happy Space, has launched and builds on the success of Wander Victoria, highlighting regional Victoria’s stunning natural beauty.

Victorians are once again encouraged to get out and about on short breaks to discover the worldclass culinary experiences, innovative regional art and culture, and international renowned well-being destinations on offer.

Research conducted by Visit Victoria in 2016 surveyed 521 Victorians, the results showed a short break to regional Victoria left 88 per cent of people feeling happier, while 81 per cent felt more relaxed after an intrastate trip.

Additionally, people who took five (or more) short breaks per year, were more likely to feel happy in their daily lives, than those who took no breaks at all.

Yet, 53 per cent of Melburnians did not take a shortbreak to regional Victoria over the 12-month period between September 2015 and September 2017.
