Volunteers needed for Queenscliffe Literary Festival

August 31, 2024 BY

THE callout is on for volunteers to be part of the historic 10th edition of the Queenscliffe Literary Festival.

From October 18 to October 27, Queenscliff will become a hub of dialogue and storytelling as established and emerging Australian literary talent sweeps through the Borough and the greater Bellarine community.

More than 60 activations and workshops are slated to take place, making it the biggest and best festival yet.

Volunteers will be in charge of meeting and greeting guests, directing people throughout the site and answering any questions attendees may have.

Festival director Elizabeth McCarthy said volunteering was an opportunity not worth missing out on.

“Volunteering at QLF is a fantastic opportunity to get behind our creative community, gain new skills, meet new people and enjoy the array of inspiring events and activities that we have in store for the 2024 festival.

“None of the tasks are heavy duty by any means, it’s more just making the festival run as smooth as possible.

“Being completely run and organised by volunteers, we hope to get many people on board to make the event the biggest and best yet in 2024.”

Volunteers will be assigned a total of about five hours of work per shift and will be compensated with a weekend’s free attendance of the festival.

The lineup for the Queenscliffe Literary Festival will be released on September 5 at the Queenscliff Town Hall.

The program launch event will be headlined by Australia’s most successful international crime writer, Michael Robotham.

Volunteer applications will close at 5pm on Friday, September 6.
