GEELONG locals can still vote for their favourite photos to feature in the 2026 City of Greater Geelong calendar.
The city received 833 entries in this year’s calendar competition, which had the theme of “Your City, Your Eyes” and focused on fresh takes on the municipality and its stunning features.
The judging panel created a shortlist of 26 images for the community to vote on. The top 13 will be used in the calendar — one for each month and a cover photo.
This year sees a return to community photographers supplying all images for the calendar, following feedback.
Geelong mayor Stretch Kontelj said he had heard community feedback, which led to an improved calendar for 2026.
“We know from feedback that residents love the City of Greater Geelong calendar, and we’ve made some improvements for the 2026 edition.
“We’ve opened every month up to voting once again, and we’ve added new collection points for easy pick-up.
“For residents who are unable to collect their calendar in person, I strongly suggest registering to receive yours through Australia Post.”
Chair of the council’s arts and culture, hospitality and live entertainment portfolio, Cr Eddy Kontelj, also encouraged people to cast their vote.
“We received incredible entries from some very talented local photographers this year,” he said.
“Now, we want the community to help with selecting the final 13 images, giving us a 2026 calendar that best showcases the beauty of our city.”
Voting wraps up today (Thursday, October 30) at 4 pm, and the final calendar will be available for purchase in December at the city’s customer service centres, and swim, sport and leisure centres, and libraries.
Residents can register to receive a copy via Australia Post at geelongaustralia.com.au/calendar by November 21.
