Walk and watch during free activities this month

January 16, 2019 BY

Learn about local plant and animal species as well as historical information and future plans for the Point Richards Flora and Fauna Reserve.

BELLARINE Bayside is offering some free activities to the community during January, including guided walks and the screening of a documentary.

Guided walks through the Point Richards Flora and Fauna Reserve (Portarlington) are run by Bellarine Bayside and the Friends of Point Richards Community Group every Monday in January from 6pm.

Come on down and learn about local plant and animal species as well as historical information and future plans for the reserve.

The group is also looking for more members so it is a great opportunity for locals to learn a bit more about the reserve as well as what is involved.

The Point Richards Flora and Fauna Reserve is a local gem dedicated to the conservation of indigenous plants and wildlife and boasts multiple walking tracks to explore.

Meet at the Boat Road entrance of the reserve opposite the Portarlington Holiday Park.

Interactive children’s activities will be provided also, so the whole family will be entertained.

Meanwhile, come along to the Indented Head Community Hall on Thursday January 24 at 6pm to enjoy a screening of the beautiful natural history documentary Melbourne Down Under.

This stunning film takes viewers on a journey within Port Phillip Bay to uncover the wonderful marine life living there.

Light refreshments will be available. No booking necessary.
