Walk to fund counsellor

A FUNDRAISING walk for mental health will travel 159.3kms from Bendigo to Buninyong from Monday, April 8.

The six-day walk, organised by Hope Assistance Local Tradies, hopes to fund the 12-month employment of a part-time counsellor who will support trades people in the Bendigo and Ballarat areas. The group wants to raise at least $50,000.

After Bendigo, walkers will move through old Goldfields towns Harcourt, Fryerstown, Hepburn Springs, Daylesford, Creswick and Ballarat.

HALT works with tradies in regional communities to provide mental health and wellbeing support, hoping to decrease suicide statistics.
