STUDENTS on the Bellarine will benefit from upgraded learning spaces at Wallington Primary School following the completion of a major state-funded redevelopment.

The school received $2.1 million in the 2023–24 state budget to upgrade classrooms and learning areas, with construction now complete.

An additional $180,000 was secured through the Department of Education’s Inclusive Schools Fund to deliver an inclusive playground, which was completed in 2024.Bellarine MP Alison Marchant visited the school this month to view the upgrades.

“These new facilities are a fantastic boost for local Wallington students, giving them the modern, inspiring learning spaces they deserve,” she said.

Education Minister Ben Carroll said the upgrades helped strengthen pride and engagement within school communities.

“Our government is investing in the Education State to ensure every Victorian student has access to quality, modern learning environments close to home,” he said.

“We’re delivering on our election commitment and ensuring students have spaces tailored to 21st century learning that develop creative thinking and inspire learning for life.”

The Victorian government says it has invested $18.5 billion over the past 11 years to build new schools and deliver more than 2,300 upgrades across the state.
