Winter Glow to light up the Bellarine
THE region’s landmark water park is set to transform into an icy and bright winter spectacle as Winter Glow returns to Adventure Park for another year.
Geelong’s most spectacular winter festival will combine an array of snow, lights, fire, ice and theme park rides together, delivering a fun and immersive family wonderland from June 22 to July 21.
“We’re so excited to be opening and making snow again,” Adventure Park managing director Leanne Salmon said.
“We love bringing fun to winter and creating that warm festival atmosphere where visitors get a 360 degree event experience, which is totally different to our summer operations.”
Winter Glow visitors will be able to experience the full scope of a snowy winter, from building a snowman in the biggest snow play zone outside of the nation’s alpine resorts to getting into the 150 tons of machine-made snow throughout the festival.
Guests can walk along the two kilometres of accessible walking trail and gaze at the 3.3 million glittering lights and hundreds of dazzling light installations, such as the Ice Castle, the Sparkle Archway and the new 100m Lights Maze.
Ice sculpting displays will be on show as well as live demonstrations from professional sculptors.
Eight enthralling theme park rides will be running throughout Winter Glow, all of which are included in the entry price.
Rides include the Air Balloons, Tea Cups, Ferris Wheel, Wave Swinger, Crazy Coaster, Red Baron, Carousel and Little Buggy, plus mini golf.
Children will also get to partake in the classic winter pastime of roasting marshmallows over the fire and being spoilt with chocolate treats.
There’s beverages for everyone too, with grown-ups welcome to try a spiked hot chocolate, spiced cider or mulled wine.
Winter Glow will be open daily from 3.30pm to 8.30pm.
