Woolworths doubles meals for Armstrong Creek shoppers
OZHARVEST’S partnership with Woolworths was in full swing in Armstrong Creek last weekend, with all customer donations matched as part of the supermarket’s Christmas Appeal.
For 11 consecutive years, the appeal has helped provide millions of meals to Australians during the feastive season.
Until December 26, every 50 cents donated by Woolworths customers will help OzHarvest to deliver one meal to someone in need.
Last weekend’s donation matching event provided the appeal a welcome boost, with Woolworths’ Armstrong Creek store having a significant impact.
“More than 300 meals were donated in our Warralily store in Armstrong Creek with Woolworths matching the donations – creating a total of more than 600 meals,” a Woolworths spokesperson said.
“To date, Victoria has donated more than 420,000 meals. A big thank you to the Armstrong Creek community for their generosity throughout this campaign. Every donation, big or small, helps make a real difference.”
OzHarvest founder, Ronni Kahn, expressed his gratitude for the support.
“The reality is many people are struggling to put a meal on the table this festive season,” he said.
“Every dollar helps deliver two meals to someone in need, and we’re incredibly grateful to the Woolworths team and their customers for helping us feed more people than ever before.”
Customers in Armstrong Creek can support the cause by purchasing Woolworths Dreamy Choc Chip Santa Cookies in stores and online, with 50 cents from every pack also being donated to OzHarvest.
