Surfing Victoria and WorkSafe Victoria will again present two of their top activations in 2024 after renewing their partnership for a seventh straight year.

Both the WorkSafe Tradies Surf Challenge and WorkSafe Club Wellness sessions will be run across the state this October.

The surfing challenge will be held at URBNSURF Melbourne on October 13 and see Victoria’s best tradesmen and women take to the water in both surfing and bodyboarding disciplines.

The Worksafe Club Wellness Sessions will run in three separate locations targeting key surfing clubs in Victoria.

The sessions will be facilitated by Cooper Chapman from the Good Human Factory and are aimed at working with club members to improve mental health and teach skills to deal with anxiety and stress.

Surfing Victoria chief executive officer Adam Robertson said he was excited to continue the longstanding relationship with WorkSafe.

“The WorkSafe Tradies Challenge at URBNSURF Melbourne and WorkSafe Club Wellness sessions are fantastic events that involve the full range of surfers from across the state.”

WorkSafe chief executive officer Joe Calafiore said the WorkSafe Tradies Surf Challenge fosters a sense of community and support.

“Engaging in a healthy, stress-relieving activity like surfing not only enhances physical well-being but also strengthens teamwork and communication skills, which are essential for safety at the workplace.

“WorkSafe has proudly sponsored the Tradies Surf Challenge for seven years as it is a great reminder that a healthy, well-connected team is the foundation of a safe worksite.”
