LAST weekend saw some great auction results along the coast.

With the confidence in the market continuing to outshine many city markets, investors, seachangers and holidaymakers alike are being drawn to the region, ensuring strong competition in Surf Coast and Bellarine real estate markets.

McCartney Real Estate has continued its good run of auctions, with 95 Ocean Boulevard Jan Juc selling for $1.81 million in front of about 80 people.

Bidding started at $1.5 million with $25,000 bids taking the price to $1.8 million. Two further bids of $5,000 saw it knocked down to a buyer from Melbourne.

McCartney director Tim Carson said the result continued to show the strength of the Surf Coast market.

“When our expected price range was $1.6-$1.7 million and the property sold for $210,000 above the reserve price, confidence in this market is buoyant,” h said.

One Agency Torquay sold a Jan Juc gem at 21 Gairloch Avenue to a Geelong bidder for $960,000 after three bidders fought it out.

Barry Plant Torquay sold 19 Springbank Circuit in the popular Great Ocean Views Estate Torquay for $795,000, which was $45,000 above reserve, while Hayden Real Estate sold 4 Hani Court, Torquay immediately after the auction.
